Teething Baby!

I have three children, a 14 year old son, almost 4 year old daughter, and a 10 month old daughter.  Believe it or not, all 3 of them cut teeth!  All three of them whined and cried.  But honestly, I never remember teething being this hard! :(

My daughter becomes so clingy and whiny when she's teething.  And by "clingy" I mean she won't go to a single other person besides me!  And she won't sleep.  Ever.

S/N:  I did breastfeed her the longest, that could be a reason she's so close to me...

I have tried the ever-so-wonderful Sophie the Giraffe Teether, which she liked to chew on, but didn't help when she was in pain. I have tried the frozen wash cloth, teething tablets, teething necklaces, teething oils, orajel and good old Tylenol.

I'm a firm believer in doing whatever you can to alleviate your child's pain.  Which is usually doing something they love.  For all 3 of my kids it has been taking a bath and going outside.  Whether it be 2pm or 2am, we will be taking a bubbly, warm bath or taking a stroll outside.  This has been the only thing that seems to get her mind off the pain and help her relax.

I have began to realize that when a child is in pain, specifically teething pain, the only thing you can do is comfort them and wait for them to fall asleep, so you can too!

Friendships Last a Lifetime...Or Do They

I grew up in a pretty big family, only had one brother and one sister, but I had about 50 cousins on my mom's side alone!  My mom didn't have a single friend from high school.  She never worked, was always a stay-at-home mom.  My mom and all my aunts and cousins were friends with each other.  We never had family gatherings where someone would bring one of their best friends from when they were little.  This led me to believe that as you get older friends fade away, you lose contact with them, you go in different directions.

But now that I am in my mid 30's I have began to rethink that notion.  With all of the never ending social media and technology, it's almost impossible to lose touch with someone.   Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, even email, how could you stop being friends even if you moved across the world?!?
Not only social media, but nowadays there aren't as many stay at home moms as there used to be in the 80's and prior.  Most mom's/dad's have jobs and have co-workers they consider friends.

Don't get me wrong, friendships don't last all because of socail media.  Of course there's the inevitable argument or disagreement between two people that could end a friendship.
But if you ever wanted to reconnect, it's as easy as picking up your cell phone and sending a quick email or message via social media.

Are friendships meant to last a lifetime?  Are we supposed to grow old, begin new friendships, grow apart from the past?

Sticking To The Plan!

Well I did it!!!  I stayed home this weekend, I worked on a Weekly Meal Plan!  I even created the spreadsheet!!! (Yes, I'm tooting my own horn...lol)
I have an amazing husband who decided to buy me a car Friday, so we were at the dealership Saturday finishing the last of the paperwork.  Why is buying a car such a long process???  My husband was literally at the dealership for 3 hours Friday, only to get home and have them call him back and say that we need to come back in because they forgot to have us sign some papers.  How. Annoying.  So needless to say, we had to pack all three kids up and head to town on Saturday.  Yet, I still got a little time in to do the weekly meal plan!
The weekly meal plan is a little tedious.  You want to make sure you have all the ingredients for every meal you are planning to make.  Lord knows that if you get home after a long day at work just to see that you don't have all the ingredients for dinner that night, you are eating something different!  No way are you going to rush to the store for one or two things, or atleast I know I wouldn't!
So in creating the weekly meal plan, I had to be really careful and pick meals that I already have the ingredients for.  I did it backwards this week, I had gone grocery shopping Friday night, then made the weekly meal plan Saturday.  That is why I was trying to pick certain meals, so I didn't have to double up on the grocery shopping this week! ($100 a week, if not more, on groceries is a killer!)
I wanted to attach my meal plan so I could get some feedback on it, but I'm not quite sure how to do that yet...
Needless to say, I used Pinterest for all of my recipes this time around.  I don't always use Pinterest, it is definitely one of my go-to's, but to keep it simple this time it is the only website I used.
I will list what the meals are below and add the webiste  :)

Week night dinner ideas are killing me!

I hate to start off sounding so negative :/ but this is something I battle with constantly!  Kids want junk food, hubby wants a ton of food, and I am in the middle thinking "healthy...cholesterol....sugars...sodium....waaaaaaahh"

Yes, I know, there are millions of sites to find recipes and dinner ideas.  It seems like I spend an hour (or hours) looking for dinner ideas and new, exciting recipes, just to get home and throw together the same thing we always eat  :(  And yes, I do have a Pinterest account and I LOVE it!!!  I will link it below :)

Now, I am like the rest of the people in the world, I "try"to eat healthy and exercise and all of that good stuff.
I typically use ground turkey meat or chicken breast with different vegetables.  I try to limit the carbs at night, although I love them!

Where do you go to find new recipes?  Does it take up all of your preparation time just looking?
When you are dealing with the same meats and the same vegetables, dinner starts to get redundant, very redundant.

My 14 year old son asked me, "Mom, why can't we be like normal people and have burgers, tacos and spaghetti for dinner?"  HA HA!  He is sick of eating "healthy" poor thing  ;)

I have decided that I am going to sit down this Saturday and take an hour (or more) searching for new recipes and adding them to a spreadsheet!  I will post them to my blog next week once I have something presentable that isn't "ground turkey with zucchini" every night.  Lol

I am excited to start this new adventure in my life, blogging!  I am completely new to this and excited to learn all about it =D

A little background information on myself;  I am from a small town in South Texas, my graduating class had a total of 74 people (told you it was small).  I took a few college courses, ultimately aiming to become a RN which never happened.  I have three darling children <3 (I will go into much detail about them in blogs to come).  I recently married the man of my dreams in Colorado, so I am now Mrs. Hunter.  How exciting!!!!  I am a full-time worker, although I wish I could stay home with the kids, bills do not allow me to do so  :{

I hope to interact with new people and talk about all kinds of interesting things that many people (probably mom's...lol) can relate to!

So until I do a little more research, talk to you later!!!

XOXO
